I grew up on the internet. I split the final years of my childhood between programming and studying computers, networking, and cryptography.
In 2014, I learned about cryptocurrencies, which has sent me down a long rabbit hole of learning about internet privacy and privacy-preserving technologies to this day.
Around 2017 I started taking programming a lot more seriously (especially from a commercial standpoint), so I began spending all of my time creating websites and software products. I basically still do.
It wasn’t until 2019 or 2020 that I really got into the development side of cryptocurrencies (especially Ethereum), and that has consumed my life ever since.
I was a bit on the fence about whether the tech was ready for it to be worth going “all-in”, but that spring and summer, I watched the DeFi ecosystem rapidly explode and become more mainstream.
As a result, nowadays, I’m focusing on Layer 2 DeFi apps, zk-SNARKs/zk-Rollups, developer tooling, various Web 3 infastructure, and some related consulting.
I also spend a good chunk of time doing cryptocurrency portfolio management, and a lot of the research that entails overlaps well with my development-related ecosystem research.
As a long-term optimist, I am immensely excited about the future.
Multiple technologies are being developed that will lead to hardly comprehensible exponential economic growth and scientific advancement in many of our lifetimes.
I would like to get involved in nuclear energy and some other fields eventually, but crypto is my entire life right now.
Regardless, on this website, I will do my best to write concise, useful, and engaging content that doesn’t waste your time and may be potentially interesting to you!
